Youth leaders: Deacon Chris & Prophetess Devin Watson
Our youth department offers a variety of activities that engage young people in fun, educational, and spiritually enriching experiences. The activities not only focus on spiritual growth but also teach valuable life skills and offer guidance and encouragement to help them navigate the challenges they face.
These activities include:
Gamers for God: Social events where youth come together to play video games, board games, or group challenges. The games are often used as a fun way to build community while incorporating biblical themes and team-building exercises.
Outreach: Youth members participate in community service projects, such as helping those in need, volunteering at local charities, and organizing events that share the love and message of Christ with others. Outreach activities often focus on building compassion and empathy.
Bible Trivia: A lively and competitive activity where youth test their knowledge of the Bible. Bible trivia challenges participants to remember key verses, stories, and characters from the Scripture, fostering deeper biblical literacy in an enjoyable way.
Studying: Youth engage in Bible study groups, where they explore scripture together, discuss its relevance to their lives, and grow in their understanding of God's word. These studies are often led by youth leaders or pastors who provide guidance and teaching.
Learning the Word of God: Beyond formal study sessions, youth are encouraged to incorporate Scripture into their daily lives through prayer, reflection, and practical application. Special workshops or retreats may be organized to help them strengthen their faith and deepen their relationship with God.
Everyday Life Skills: The youth department also offers practical guidance on everyday life skills, such as time management, financial stewardship, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution. These lessons equip young people to be responsible, confident, and resourceful, both in their personal lives and as members of the church community.
Guidance and Encouragement: Youth leaders provide personal mentorship and counseling, offering wisdom and support for navigating the challenges of adolescence. They encourage open dialogue about topics like peer pressure, mental health, relationships, and faith struggles, helping youth find comfort and strength in their Christian beliefs.
These activities are designed to help young people grow spiritually, form lasting friendships, and develop a strong sense of purpose and community within the church.
By combining spiritual development with practical life skills, the youth department fosters well-rounded individuals who are not only grounded in their faith but also equipped to lead fulfilling, responsible lives as they grow.
