Life Tabernacle & Praise Church (LTPCGRIFFIN) began in the Spring of 1989 with a powerful move of God upon my heart to go to Griffin, GA, and to start a ministry. This powerful move stayed with me even as I pastored for two years at my first Church in the Kirkwood section of Atlanta, GA. But immediately after my tenure there ended, I knew that the time was right for me to obey God and begin the process of founding and opening a Church in Griffin, GA. The vision began to manifest in October 1995 as we began ministering to the needs of the senior residents and the staff on Sunday and Wednesday at the Spalding Nursing Home in Griffin at that time our name was Word Of Life Church, and because of much encouragement from the staff and residents of Spalding Nursing Home we truly felt a go ahead and to continue a directed by the Lord.

After a few months at the nursing home, God gave us favor with Mr. Henry the Manager of Spalding Heights Apts. Who provided a space for us (free of charge) to have Sunday services at Spalding Heights Apts. This was a tremendous blessing as we at that time began to take in our first members' “children”. We were yet more encouraged as Mrs. Johnie Mae Stroud opened her home to us to have Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Study.

In the summer of 1996, the Lord had more blessings for us as He showed us a parcel of land on the corner of North 9th and Bleachery St. in Griffin; we felt assuredly that land and building on it was for our Ministry so walked around it seven times and shouted the victory just like Joshua and the children of Israel did. The land’s owner, Mr. Ward of Ward Oil Company allowed us to operate our ministry in the building on N9th and Bleachery for 9 months, rent-free, and with the first option to buy it, we made the necessary improvements on the building and purchased it in the fall of 1997.

Prophetess (now) Apostle Watson and I are deeply thankful to scores of businesses and people both past and present whom God placed in our lives some briefly and some long term who have been a great and unfathomable help to this Ministry without whose we scarcely think where this ministry would be.

God has taken us from temporary dwellings as Word of Life to a more permanent dwelling as Life Tabernacle & Praise Church (LTPCGRIFFIN) here in Griffin, GA. We can also report that we have expanded with a new addition to our ministry that was birthed in 2010: Life Community Enrichment Center (LCEA). It is located in Sharon Watson Hester Fellowship Hall on our campus. We indeed are yet moving forward in the vision as directed by God.  We are a distribution point for Toys for Tots serving 5 counties, we have a women’s shelter ministry and a youth ministry.

Additionally, in the Spring of 2010, Apostle Pamela Watson founded our Sister Church Better Day Life Ministry (BDLM) in Clayton County Georgia. She is working and as well being led by God along with our assistance to be a Spiritual blessing to all the souls that God has given her in the Clayton County community.

LTPCGRIFFIN, LCEA, AND BDLM history has been one of Ministry, Missions, and Service in our community to all people regardless of race, class, or status.
